Dealing with Powerful Emotions – a Step by Step Approach
Saturday 7 September, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Managing strong emotions can be an overwhelming process. But with practice we can learn to step back, feel our emotions and also respond with self respect. The method is to build our inner strength and create new habits so we can resist acting on our emotions even though we are upset.
Find out how Raja Yoga meditation can help us maintain our dignity and clarity in the face of powerful emotional responses.
Charlie is National Coordinator (Chief Executive) of Brahma Kumaris Australia (BKA) and the Chairman of its Board of Directors. He came across the Brahma Kumaris in London in 1975 and returned to Australia in 1977 to open a BK centre in Melbourne. Now based in Sydney, Charlie regularly visits the 40 BKA venues around Australia. He is also an active member of the Brahma Kumaris international coordinating group, responsible for major international projects and the administrative direction of the organisation’s global network of centres.
Charlie feels we need a new wisdom for contemporary life. Our intellectual abilities help us handle the external world but often fall short when it comes to navigating the internal world, a world often dominated by an overactive mind, anxiety, feelings of self-doubt or a sense of superiority.
