Are We Living or Just Collecting? An Unfiltered Conversation for Young People (18-35) at Manchester Museum

What's on Your Mind?

Museums are full of fascinating collections. But what about us?

In our fast-paced, modern lives, we often feel a constant pressure to build our own collections—degrees, job titles, followers, achievements, and experiences worth posting. So much of this hustle is driven by the need to feel validated, successful, or simply to keep up. But behind the curated highlights and the endless comparison, do we actually feel alive?

As part of the Manchester Wellbeing Days festival, Inner Space invites you to a special edition of our What's on Your Mind? series, hosted live at the beautiful Manchester Museum.

We are sitting down to talk honestly about hustle culture, the exhausting pressure to perform, and what finding “enough” really looks like in today's world.

What to expect:
This isn't a lecture or a seminar—it’s an open, non-judgmental conversation. There are no right or wrong answers, and absolutely no pressure to speak if you'd rather just listen. Surrounded by the history of the museum, it’s a chance to take a collective breath, drop the mask, and explore how we can shift from merely accumulating things to intentionally experiencing life.

Why come?
  • To hit pause: Step off the treadmill of constant achievement and give your mind a genuine break from the noise of the digital world.
  • To find your people: Connect with other young adults who are navigating the exact same pressures, comparisons, and quarter-life questions.
  • To gain fresh perspective: Redefine what a successful, meaningful life actually looks like for you, rather than what the algorithm expects.
  • To experience the museum differently: Enjoy a rare, reflective afternoon surrounded by history, in a space dedicated entirely to your wellbeing.
Take a breath, drop the pressure to perform, and join the chat.
